CHARLOTTE CORNETT
Using a variety of media including water based ink, torn oriental papers, oil sticks, carbon pencils, and computer generated imagery,
Cornett complete these one of a kind monotype collage paintings. The encaustic medium is a new addition to this series of paintings.
These works are inspired by her travels and own life experiences which provide her with new shapes, different moods of color,
and textures both old and new. With an art background that includes drawing, painting, etching, mixed media paintings,
computer graphics and works in small metal, Cornett is constantly collecting ideas. Postcards, papers (some torn off of old billboards in Europe),
ticket stubs, clippings, and other souvenirs are collected to embellish these compositions. “ I enjoy experimenting with new ideas that allow
me to remain open to new approaches. It takes awhile for everything I have experienced to finally come together in the work
I’m doing at present. You have to go through many different stages in order to reach where you want to be with your art.
Striving to portray my own personal artistic vision inspries me.”Paintings by Cornett have been included in jured exhibitions
across the USA and Europe having received top awards in many and have been shown in galleries in the USA.
